The following is a sample of a Ford Motor
Company Vehicle Order Card (IBM 80-column punch card), which would have
been how the record was entered into Ford's IBM 704 data processing
system.
The computer punch card is divided into 80 columns and 12 rows. This is
a 1967 Ford Passenger Car Basic Broadcast Card
(revised May-66) 655372-0 BSC.

It wasn't necessary to order the ECP on an air-conditioned
vehicle as those components (radiator, fan & shroud) would have already been
included as part of the AirCon build. All '67 Shelby
GT units received the ECP components,
regardless of whether or not it was itemized here. |

Notes:
-
Engine Code
An S-code 390-4v engine is specified on the Vehicle Order Image
because there was no code for the 8-cyl 428 8V 'Special Interceptor'
that was unique to the 1967 Shelby G.T. 500 model. [Research
Topic]
- Trim
DSO 2512 for #0139 specified the
Trim as "5A" (Luxury Knitted Black Vinyl), however, this
material was not yet available during the early part of production so "6A"
(Luxury Black Vinyl) was substituted by the assembly plant and is
represented as such by the post-build Ford record. [Research

Day of month: 1-first day,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C ... T,U,V-31st day.
-
Axle Select
DSO 2512 for the convertible and
other C-6 automatic cars itemized a 3.25:1 axle ratio with 9.00
ring gear
and
31 spline axle. 4-speed manual gearbox equipped cars had a 3.50:1
axle specified on the DSOs.
These are not a pre-defined values on the VOC, and thus a
discrepancy in the Ford computer record.
-
Tire Size
1967 DSOs itemized the wheels, tires,
and lug nuts as
"customer supplied." Specific itemizations on the DSO/SVO override the
standard values in the computer record. It appears that the computer records
foir later built units had this field left blank.
