The FIRST print ad to announce the '68 models

Appeared simultaneously in the November 1967 issues of Road & Track magazine (inside front cover), Car Life magazine (inside front cover), and in Playboy magazine. Being the November issues, readers would have received their copies in October 1967.

The '67 convertible appears in three of the four photos in this advertisement.

Based on the unique width of the roll bar on the convertible, and the fact that the '67 convertible was painted Acapulco Blue when found in 1976, it is possible that this ad also features the '67 convertible.

Television Commercial

We believe that the Acapulco Blue fastback that appears in this video is car #0463. This was a January-built '67 Shelby G.T. 500 4-speed that also received '68-styled fiberglass for its brief modeling career.

The red convertible in the top photo appears to be a production '68 model year car, however, we believe that the rear view of convertible in the middle of the page is the 1967 car, #0139.
